Pierre Ferrand Curacao (Triple Sec)
Pierre Ferrand is an iconic name in spirits production. Founded in 1989 in the Cognac region of France, and with a mission to preserve the traditonal art of spirit making, Alexandre Gabriel began this boutique distillery by creating a Grande Champagne Cognac. Later they added a French artisanal gin (with a lot of controversy and legal wrangling) and some rums. Today they have developed a full range of spirits including vodka and also Dry Curacao.
Dry Curacao is a must have for classic cocktail makers everywhere. Based on a 19th Century traditional French recipe, this is made with 14 spices, aged cognac and bitter curacao oranges and then it is left to age in oak barrels giving it a fantastic depth of flavour. The “triple” in triple sec – refers to the three distillations and of course the “sec” refers to the bitterness found in those curacao oranges. Use in a plethora of cocktails from the classic margharita, punches, slings or straight up and on the rocks.
