Barbadillo – Ataman Vermut – Vermouth
Barbadillo Ataman Vermut is a fresh and herbal Spanish vermouth hailing from Jerez. It is a reintroduced line that Barbadillo first developed in the 1940s, with the residual stocks having spent more than 50 years maturing in oak casks. Featuring ingredients such as absinthe, quassia tree bark, rosemary, Seville orange, elderberry, and a mixture of manzanilla sherries, including a little amount of the original stock, the vermouth is based on the original recipe. The outcome is a vermouth that is intensely flavourful, rich, and clearly herbaceous.
Bodegas Barbadillo is a prominent family-owned winery that has been making sherry in Sanlcar de Barrameda, a traditional sherry-producing region in Jerez, Southwest Spain, since 1821.
Complex and vibrant, Barbadillo Ataman Vermut has a strong yet well-balanced bitterness. With flavours of dried fruits, spices, and orange peel, it has a full-bodied character and an incredibly lengthy herbaceous finish. It showcases its flavour and force with a pronounced bitterness, making it a great choice for cocktails like the Negroni.
