Gordon & Macphail -Discovery – Tomatin 2010 – Whisky
This Tomatin 2010 is part of the brilliant discovery range for Gordon & Macphail. It is a limited edition single malt that is produced exclusively at the Tomatin distillery in the wild and wonderful Scottish Highlands. This particular whisky is matured in bourbon barrels which gives it a light and delicate taste.
The Tomatin distillery has been producing high-quality single malts for over a century and is renowned for the commitment to traditional production methods and the use of only the finest ingredients. In fact, the distillery sources its water from the nearby Alt-na-Frith burn, which is fed by pure, clean spring water from the Monadhliath mountains.
The G&M Tomatin 10 has a smooth and subtle flavour profile with notes of vanilla and honey complimented by a whiff of smoke. A refreshing, clean finish with a citrus aftertaste lingering on the tongue. Lovely.
Overall this limited edition whisky is a must try for anyone who loves single malts. Will it become a collectors item like so many recently? Who knows but with its unique flavour profile and back-story it is easy to see why it might be.
