Lowerland – Die Verlore Bokooi – Red Blend
Located in Prieska in the west of the Northern Cape area of South Africa. With a desert-like climate and far out of prime latitudinal preference this area isn’t exactly considered a prime spot for grape growing, but the heat is moderated by altitudinal influence and a marked diurnal range that allows the grapes opportunity to ripen whilst retaining acidity. This dry, arid climate also really suits organic farming, which Lowerland excel at.
This blend incorporates Tannat and Petit Verdot, which contributes to it’s dark, opaque hue and depth of black fruit and liquorice flavours. The tannins are well integrated and soft, and it’s an extremely easy drinking full bodied blend.Â
