Sandeman – Character Medium Dry Amontillado
Sandeman is famous Port & Sherry house, founded in 1790. It’s famous logo depicts a man wearing a Portuguese student’s cape as a nod to their Port business and a Spanish wide brimmed hat as a nod to the Sherry business. The Sandeman “Don” as he is known became one of the worlds first brand images and is still very much recognised brand image today.
Medium gold in colour with amber hints. This is a pronounced and complex wine, with characteristics reflecting each stage of its production process. Yeasty, bready notes from the flor yeast are enriched by oxidative nutty and dried fruit characters. The addition of PX adds notes of raisins and treacle as well as a well-balanced hint of sweetness. The finish is smooth and long, with lingering characters of roasted nuts.
