St Bernardus – Wit
St Bernadus is a brewery found in Watou, Belgium. Originally, the monks in this village made cheese, but in the mid-1950’s expanded the operation to include a brewery to be able to brew trappist ales. Due to legislature change from 1992 their trappist label could not be continued as they do not brew within an abbey, and they faced considerable hardship to revive the brewery. This was achieved in 1998 under new management and an expansion which saw the opening of an onsite rooftop bar.
This Wit beer is a wheat beer with a herby flavour profile and a citrus twang.
