Donna Elvira – ‘Settemazze’ Irpinia – Aglianico
Donna Elvira is a winemaking company nestled in the hills of Irpinia in the town of Montemiletto, Campania. It is the namesake of a mother who worked tirelessly to return to this land, and now this wine reflects the same passion for the land and terroir that has been passed down through the generations.Â
Grown in the foothills of the Irpinia hills, this Aglianico undergoes a short maceration time and is a light cherry red in colour. Flavours of ripe red and black fruits, with violets and touches of forest floor coming through. There are some soft spice notes, and the mouthfeel is soft and elegant with integrated tannins and a long persistent finish.Â
