Susana Balbo Late Harvest Malbec 2019
Susana Balbo is a very impressive woman for so many reasons. Firstly, she makes the bold step to become the first female graduate of Enology in Argentina after applying to study Nuclear Physics but was prevented by her family. She soon started working on various vineyards and has been named in the top ten of the most influential women in the wine world.
This unique wine is created using very mature, late harvest, raisin-like grapes that are lightly crushed and fermented to produce a wine with great aromas, colour and concentration. Dark ruby coloured, it offers a complex bouquet of cloves, cinnamon, tobacco and black cherries. On the palate, layers of ripe red fruits are combined with notes of dark chocolate and slight anise leading to an amazingly long finish.Â
